10月9日長崎県美術館にてテオ・ヤンセン特別展が開幕。オランダ総領事、長崎県副知事の参加の下、オープニング・セレモニーが執り行われました。
本展示会の目玉、新作のPlaudents Vela 2世。400年以上前にオランダから波頭を超えて長崎迄渡来したオランダ人の船乗り達へのオマージュとして特別に制作されたものです。帆船をイメージした大きな帆が特徴。他のストランドビーストと異なり、Plaudents Vela 2世は前進のみ可能、後退することが出来ません。

The exhibition in Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum has started on October 9th. The opening ceremony was held with the presence of the Dutch Consul General as well as the Deputy Governor of Nagasaki prefecture.
This is “Plaudents Vela II”, which Theo has dedicated for this particular exhibition as a symbol of the Netherlands & Nagasaki friendly and long-term relationship. Unlike other beasts, it walks forward only, and doesn’t walk backward.
